Overview
Eldaarich is a sealed city-state ruled by Daskinor, a paranoid human Sorcerer-King known as the Goblin Death. No one enters or leaves without his permission, and the Redguards enforce his rule. The city is the source of the slave brands that still torment the party.
What players know
The party entered Eldaarich on a House Azeth run to smuggle medicine for a cholera outbreak Daskinor is suppressing. The job went bad, most of the original group died, and the survivors escaped as branded slaves. The brands can be detected by nearby Redguards and burn harder the farther the party travels from the city.
Why it matters
Eldaarich still holds the party through their slave brands, which act as a leash that punishes distance and can be used to track them. Daskinor is the campaign’s central antagonist.
Campaign history
- Session #1: The party’s smuggling mission failed here. The Redguards enslaved and branded them, and they survived the fighting pits.
- Session #2: The party was marched out toward the docks and escaped aboard the prison skimmer.
- Session #3: The party revealed their original mission was to smuggle medicine into Eldaarich, and that Daskinor is actively suppressing a cholera outbreak.
- Session #4: The slave brands began burning violently as the party crossed a distance threshold from Eldaarich, confirming the brands are a leash tied to the city.
- Session #5: The party learned all of Daskinor’s branded slaves are eventually found and killed, and that the Tally-Halls were his former slave-processing site.
- Session #7: Murals in the Tally-Halls showed Daskinor receiving power from an unnamed defiler and commanding thousands of branded slaves.
The city remains active and hostile. The party has not returned.
