Overview
The Tally-Halls of the Hollow King is a buried structure hidden beneath an old cistern a day’s journey south of Kurn. The entrance is accessible by following a dry channel that runs from the city southwards. Daskinor once used this place to process captives — branding, marking, and sorting them before sending them east.
What players know
Sali Vethran uncovered old House Azeth manifests at the Great Library referencing this place. The records indicate:
- Captives were brought here, marked, and sorted before being sent east.
- A slave uprising collapsed the upper works and killed the templar staff.
- Kurn aided the rebellion to clear Daskinor’s presence from their territory.
- The shifting sands have since turned the tower-like structure into a dungeon.
The party’s brands are connected to the magic first developed here. The Tally-Halls may hold answers about how to remove them.
Why it matters
The Tally-Halls are the origin of Daskinor’s branded-slave magic and the first concrete lead toward freeing the party from their brands. They also revealed the existence of Ilyra Venn and the Quiet Forge.
Campaign history
- Session #5: Sali Vethran uncovered House Azeth manifests at the Great Library naming the Tally-Halls as Daskinor’s buried slave-processing site south of Kurn — the party’s first lead on removing the brands.
- Session #6: The party entered the cursed halls via the dry channel, crossed an underwater mass grave of former slaves, and defeated the branded wight guarding the final chamber, ending the hall’s curse.
- Session #7: The party completed the pre-incantation and unlocked the sealed murals, learning Daskinor’s brands claim their bearers after death and hide a vast horde of branded dead. A tally-slate named Ilyra Venn and the Quiet Forge as the next lead.
The halls are explored and cleared of their known guardians.
