- Date
📍 Location
Outside Shadukar, beyond the Burnt Wood.
⚔️ What Happened
The party ambushed and killed five warforged scouts travelling toward the Witch of the Cottage. During the fight, one scout gave itself to the Lord of Blades’ control. The party covered its head and stopped the attempted possession.
After the battle, the party travelled for an hour to find a quiet place to rest. They then left the Burnt Wood and continued toward Shadukar through a fog-choked swamp.

Near the clearing around the Witch’s cottage, the party saw three graveknights standing at the door with their backs turned. One entered the cottage to speak with someone inside. The party remained hidden.

Beyond the forest lay the Fields of the Dead, a shallow mass grave. Its dead rose against the party and dragged M.A.77 and Tak beneath the murky water. Renoir was pulled under soon after. M.A.77 was completely submerged as the dead tried to bury him alive beneath the water. He barely survived. Renoir’s prayers pacified the dead and saved the party.

From a distant vantage point, the party watched Shadukar’s dead repeat the habits of their former lives beneath the mist. A farmer harvested potatoes while tax collectors carried the crop into the city. M.A.77 used Whisper on the Wind to speak with the farmer. The farmer was cooperative but confused, knew no secrets, and answered a question about living people with: “Fresh meat.”
Kaelvhen sensed tendrils reaching beyond the city. One appeared to lead to an opening, perhaps a tunnel toward Shadukar’s heart.
