The Waystone Tavern near the Face of Tira Miron.

⚔️ What Happened

The adventurers reached the Waystone Tavern, a modest stop near the Face of Tira Miron where they expected nothing more than rest and a warm meal before continuing to Danthaven. The peace did not last.

Five thugs serving Ser Harwin Blackthorne stormed into the tavern, bringing the smell of sweaty leather and the arrogance of men who knew the Church of the Silver Flame stood behind them. Without ceremony, one of them grabbed a server and humiliated her in front of everyone. The innkeeper, Aldric Thorne, and his daughter Elara froze in fear, uncertain whether to intervene or lower their heads and wait for the storm to pass.

Ser Harwin Vex paced through the room as though he owned it, directing threatening looks at the party. It was clear he was not there by chance. To make the balance of power unmistakable, one of Harwin’s men stepped outside and coldly killed one of the party’s horses—a simple and brutal message.

The party did not remain passive. They released all but one of the templars’ horses, sending the same message back. Tension escalated rapidly, and with nothing more to say, fists and blades spoke. The battle was short and violent. None of the five thugs survived.

After the fight, with the tavern floor stained with blood, Dren d’Tharashk turned to Aldric and Elara. What followed was neither thanks nor comfort. In a voice low and heavy as a stone slab, Dren warned that if they spoke a word about what had happened, nowhere would be far enough away for them to hide.

The family remained silent.
