📍 Location

The concealed peat-whisky caves in the Shadow Marches, near Drennak’s ruined family mine.

⚔️ What Happened

The party destroyed the House Tarkanan cell inside the den. Vessa, Brok, and Sella were killed, while Varrek was captured alive. The party recovered Drennak’s body and the dragonshards stolen from his family’s mine before returning to Zarash’ak.

Thrakken received Drennak’s body and the recovered dragonshards. Driven by vengeance for the attack on his family and mine, he tortured Varrek before releasing him permanently maimed. Thrakken made the consequence clear: if House Tarkanan strikes again, it will be destroyed.

🕯️ Farewells

After the return to Zarash’ak, Karsus retired from adventuring. He said he had already faced too much death and destruction. M.A.77 remained speechless and sad, while Renoir agreed with Karsus’s decision.

The party stayed for Drennak’s funeral, which followed a traditional bog rite. They placed Drennak’s body in a bog boat with all his weapons and belongings, along with five barrels of whisky. The boat was released onto the bog and set alight, cremating Drennak in an explosive blaze.

After the funeral, the party said their goodbyes. M.A.77 and Renoir embraced as they began a new journey together.
