The Mournland, between the fallen escape pod and a distant bunker.
⚔️ What Happened
This session was defined by the terrible week the party spent in the Mournland. Karsus, Drennak, Renoir, and Nerys all suffered greatly in the moments after leaving the safety pod.
The land’s respiratory disease began to take hold, and the party survived a genuinely deadly encounter with an ankheg-like creature. From the moment they arrived, their plan was to reach a bunker where they could shelter from the miasma, find supplies, and prepare to travel north toward the coast and a way out of the Mournland.
Nerys’s illness continued to worsen. As an aquatic elf, he also desperately needed water to keep his skin moist. Every attempt to find water in the wasteland failed. He became lost, and his condition turned fatal.
In a final act of desperation, Nerys threw himself into a pool of magical liquid left behind by the war. He dissolved within it and will never be recovered.
